1. Noun (คำนาม) ใช้เรียก ชื่อคน สัตว์ สิ่งของ สถานที่ 

2. Pronoun (คำสรรพนาม) ใช้เรียกแทนคำนาม  เช่น He, She, It

3. Adjective (คำคุณศัพท์,คุณนาม,คุณลักษณะ) คำ ขยายนาม ใช้ขยาย Noun กับ Pronoun เพื่อบรรยายให้เห็นลักษณะของ Noun กับ Pronoun ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น โดยการบอกลักษณะ บอกปริมาณ และบอกจำนวน เป็นต้น เช่น
   สูง,ต่ำ,ยาว,สั้น                                  บอกลักษณะร่างกาย
  ดำ,ขาว,เขียว,เหลือง,แสด,แดง       เป็นการบอกสี
   โง่,ฉลาด                                            บอกลักษณะด้านจิตใจ
                               การใช้ Adjective
- อยู่หน้า noun เช่น good man.
- อยู่หลัง Verb to be เช่น He is good.

4. Verb (คำกริยา) ใช้พร้อมกับ  Tenses (เวลา) ใช้แสดงกริยาอาการต่างๆ  บ่งบอกให้รู้ว่าประธานทำอะไร 
    (Verb มี 3 ช่อง แต่ละช่องจะบอกเวลาเป็น อดีต ปัจจุบัน และ อนาคต)

5. Adverb (คำวิเศษณ์ หรือ คำขยายกริยา) คำ ขยายกริยา เพื่อเพิ่มความหมายให้กับคำกริยาที่ถูกขยาย บอกให้รู้ว่าประธานทำอย่างไร เมื่อไร ที่ไหน  (ส่วนมาก Adverb จะลงท้ายด้วย ..ly)

6. Preposition (คำบุพบท) ใช้เชื่อมระหว่างคำ เพื่อบอกเวลา สถานที่ และทิศทาง ทำให้ประโยคสมบูรณ์ เช่น in, on, at  ตัวอย่าง She stay in her house.

7. Conjunction (คำสันธาน) ใช้เชื่อมประโยค มีทั้งแบบคล้อยตาม ขัดแย้ง และเป็นเหตุเป็นผล เช่น and, or, but  ตัวอย่าง She and I are teacher.

8. Interjection (คำอุทาน) ใช้แสดงความรู้สึกหรืออารมณ์ต่างๆ เช่น Well, Oh
